10 Sneaker Boutiques That Have Awesome Clothing Lines

Sneakers and clothes go hand-in-hand. The sneaker boutique has always been a meeting ground for these two worlds, and it's the place where a lot of sneakerheads first explored their interest in how their complete kit looks.

A lot of boutiques carry a lengthy list of desirable brands from streetwear, menswear, and high-end labels. These shops, though, have also dabbled in creating their own clothes. They've launched their own in-house clothing brands that can be found at the shop, and, increasingly, other locations.

When we discuss sneaker boutiques having clothing lines, we're referring to stuff that's actually branded with the shop's name or designated as the boutique's label — not clothing lines that are ventures by those who own the stores (although those are great). Some of these lines are really good, too. To get a look at the ones you need to check out, here are 10 Sneaker Boutiques That Have Awesome Clothing Lines. CLICK HERE

10 Sneaker Books You Should Check Out

It's August, and we hope you're having a great summer. But the lazy days of the season are still in full force. So what better way to burn some time than read about something you love? We're talking about sneakers, of course. For those who want to search for knowledge that goes deeper than sneaker blogs, there are also books that archive the history and niche topics that help transcend sneakers into a pop culture phenomenon. There's nothing better than getting lost in a good book, so check out 10 Sneaker Books You Should Check Out. CLICK HERE

The Best Retro Sneakers of 2014 (So Far)

We live in a culture obsessed with things from the past. For sneakerheads, that means the re-issue of sneakers from yesteryear. For better or worse, sneaker brands consistently release models from their back archives and keep people waiting to see what's going to be rummaged from the dust. 2014 has been no different.

There are models that make us scratch our heads and say, "Why did that get retroed?" There are also plenty of sneakers Complex were glad got re-released. And, surprise, they're not just '90s basketball sneakers, either. To see what Complex has been waiting for that's released somewhere between January and the end of June, check out The Best Retro Sneakers of 2014 (So Far) CLICK HERE

The Best New Sneakers of 2014 (So Far)

There are more sneaker releases each week than most can remember. We're halfway through 2014, and there have been enough amazing (and not so amazing) sneakers to last us until the end of the year. But at this junction, it's time to decide which cream has risen to the top of the sneaker world right now.

That's right, Complex is counting down the best sneakers of the year, but Complex is not adding everything to their list. For this ranking, they've compiled the best new sneakers and collaborations (no retros) of the past six months. The list includes wins from adidas, Jordan Brand, Nike, ASICS, New Balance, and more. There are even high-fashion sneakers on here, too. Agree or disagree, here are The Best New Sneakers of 2014 (So Far).               CLICK HERE

News: The Shoe Game Explains What's Wrong With Sneaker Culture

Sneaker culture is growing at a fast pace. This niche hobby has now hit mainstream and it seems like everyone these days is a "sneakerhead".  Like anything else that becomes wildly popular, there's going to be negatives that give the culture a black eye. The Shoe Game takes a look at a couple of these negatives in the feature "Reasons Why The Sneaker Game Is F’d Up! (Part 2)".  You can read the story on The Shoe Game's website.

Complex Responds To Wale's Explosive Threats Says MMG Rapper Should Work Harder

A few days ago DMV emcee & Maybach Music Group’s Wale ignited the web by verbally attacking Complex Magazine's staff, to provide clarity into the situation Complex Associate Editor Insanul Ahmed states the company has no issues with the MMG emcee.

Via Sohh:

“Wale did not come to our office. We reached out to Wale’s publicist and management and offered that he could come to our office for a sit-down, on-camera interview where he could vent his frustrations to create a more constructive dialogue about our list. In the end, the camp declined our offer. Complex has no grudge against Wale or any other artist. Wale is an active, relevant artist and someone we have always covered and will continue to cover. He’s made many of our lists in the past. On a more personal note, I have advocated for his music many times in the office and outside. Funny thing is, Wale made this accusation before and back in 2011, I sat down with Wale and talked to him for several hours. I felt like we had worked out whatever issues it was back then.” (HHDX)

Ahmed also suggested Wale could learn from his Top 50 Albums of 2013 exclusion and work harder for future lists.

“Anyone who’s an artist and creates a piece of art wants recognition for what they create. So I totally understand someone’s frustrations for being left out of a list or an award shows nomination. But look at the way Lil Wayne–who also didn’t make our albums list–handled being left out of the BET and VMA nods earlier this year; he took it as a cue to work harder. There’s a lesson there.” (HHDX)
