The White House says President Obama will pay a visit to New Orleans, Friday, November 8 to speak about the economy.
It will be his first visit to the area since Hurricane Issac in 2012.
Details of his appearances have not yet been released.
According to the White House, he'll focus on promoting measures he believes will help grow the nation's economy including efforts to increase exports.
The Advocate reported that Governor Jindal released a statement after the visit was announced in which he expressed the hope that the President would meet with him to discuss "all the great things that are happening in Louisiana."
Jindal also took a jab at Obama, saying “We also hope he can make time to join us and meet with parents participating in the Louisiana Scholarship Program and explain to them why his Justice Department is trying to force their children back into failing schools.”
